1. Ritual Coffee Roasters

Location: Best for Cheltenham Spa train station

Set within their incredible roastery, Ritual’s brew bar quite literally serves freshly roasted coffee that you can see being created on-site. It’s a really cool industrial space with lots of seating inside and out as well as a kitchen serving a brilliant brunch menu if you’re hungry for more.

2. The Scandinavian Coffee Pod

Location: Best for centre of town

Built on the Scandinavian principle of doing simple, well, this spot serves only the best speciality coffee. Their classically Scandi stylish space creates a really relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your quality cuppa. Alternatively, get more involved by joining one of their latte art classes or coffee skills courses.

3. ARC Espresso Bar

Location: Best for Cheltenham Spa train station

Not only does ARC offer fantastic coffee but they have an on-site bakery serving up some of the best pastries, cookies, cakes and brownies in town. Plus, as it’s just over the road from the main train station, it’s super handy to grab a coffee before your train or when you arrive to get that caffeine fix!

Location: Best for centre of town

Part of a small local chain, Society has practiced the art of the perfect coffee shop – great coffee, range of tasty baked treats and plenty of spacious seating facing into the sun. Head here to catch some rays and sip your coffee in the sun.

Suffolk Coffee puts local produce and sustainability at the heart of everything they do so you can feel good about stopping here and supporting local businesses. From their coffee roasted by Ritual Coffee (as mentioned above) to bakes and brownies from bakers in Cheltenham and neighbouring Bristol.

As the name suggests, you’re in for a treat here. Not only can you find brilliant quality coffee but indulge your sweet tooth with mouth-watering donuts in flavours like tiramisu, maple toffee crunch, Biscoff and more.

7. The Coffee Dispensary

Location: Best for centre of town

A firm favourite since 2015, the Coffee Dispensary pride themselves on serving the best coffee to their community while showcasing the work of local artists, photographers and musicians. So to get a better taste of local life and community, head to this well-loved spot.

Plus, in the evening the place turns into a cosy speakeasy with signature espresso martinis and more!

8. Sorrel Stores

Location: Best for Montpellier

Focused on seasonal produce, this fresh and stylish spot serves tasty coffee, a selection of pastries and a delicious brunch menu. Head here to escape the city centre rush, chill out and sip your coffee in a super comfy space.

Just the other side of the main train station you’ll find the small but perfectly formed, Green Coffee Machine. This is the perfect place to grab a quick coffee on your way too or from the station. Alongside their brilliantly strong coffee they serve a range of smoothies, wraps and lunch bits so there’s something for everyone.

10. The Meadow Café

Location: Best for park exploring (Cox’s Meadow)

On the edge of the pretty park sits this café serving walkers, sunbathers and cyclists tasty coffees and bacon rolls to fuel their day. This super friendly spot is great for families exploring outside the hub of town.

11. Number 85 Coffee & Kitchen

Location: Best for centre of town

From coffee to steak, independent Number 85 does it all. Taking you from morning coffee and breakfast to midday brunch – head here if you’re craving a side of pancakes and french toast with your coffee!

12. Baker & Graze

Location: Best for Montpellier

Last but by no means least is Great Taste Award-winning bakery and coffee shop – Baker & Graze. The judges really knew what they were doing – this place has some of the most incredible sourdough bread, sweet treats and barista quality coffee. Just get here early if you do want to pick up a loaf too – it sells out quick!
