Kicking things off is the beautiful and definitively hygge spot – Café Sølle. With tables lit by candlelight, cosy indoor seating areas and sun-soaked benches outside, this is one of the best places to grab a coffee and watch the world go by.
Their friendly team of baristas serve delicious light-roasted coffee alongside tasty brunch and lunch menus where most dishes come with a side of organic sourdough. Need I say more?!

For a more industrial meets hygge feel head to Kaffeværket which is built in an old factory to enjoy their brilliant range of speciality coffees. Plus, the space also doubles as an art gallery so you can admire the work of local artists while you sip.
If it’s a sunny day, sit outside in their pretty courtyard to catch some rays!
3. Velodrom Kaffebar
Opening hours:
Tue – Sun: 10:00 – 18:00
Mon: Closed
A little south of the city centre and perched on the edge of one of Odense’s many parks you’ll find Velodrom. This popular local spot is set inside an old classically Danish timber building that’s part of Fruens Bøge train station and takes inspiration from vintage rail carriages.
The cute and cosy coffee bar serves perfectly brewed coffee alongside a whole range of sweet treats and savoury Danish bakes. So if you’re this side of town, don’t miss it!
4. Café Korn
Opening hours:
Mon – Thu: 10:00 – 21:00
Fri – Sat: 10:00 – 22:00 Sun: 10:00 – 16:00
Back in the heart of the old town you can find Café Korn which is part of a small Danish coffee chain that’s all about quality ingredients. From sourcing the finest coffee beans to the best local produce for their brunch, lunch and dinner menus.
For the ultimate experience, head here for their brunch buffet to grab a delicious coffee and enjoy freshly baked bread, pastries, different cheeses, ham and sausages as well as fresh fruit, eggs and more. You’ll get to try lots of local and Danish flavours!
5. Mornsol
Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: Closed
Sat – Sun: 10:00 – 17:00
By pretty Odense harbour you’ll find the light, bright and fresh coffee shop, Mornsol. It’s half café and half candle making shop so you could easily spend a couple of hours here enjoying a tasty coffee and then making your own dinner candles to take home.
Right on the waterfront this is such a lovely spot whether you’re feeling crafty or just in need of caffeine! Just note, it’s only open on weekends.
6. Café Fleuri
Opening hours:
Mon – Wed: 08:00 – 17:30
Thu – Sat: 08:00 – 21:00 Sun: 08:00 – 16:00
For a little taste of France in the middle of Denmark, Café Fleuri is the one. This beautifully decorated space creates such a lovely atmosphere to sit back and relax. With low-lit indoor seating and a pretty outdoor hidden courtyard draped in ivy and surrounded by trees you could easily spend hours here.
Head over around lunchtime to enjoy tasty salads, sandwiches and more with your coffee.
7. Café Deilig
Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: 10:00 – 17:00
Sat – Sun: 09:00 – 17:00
This next coffee shop is one of my favourites. Set in the recently built museum around Hans Christian Andersen’s house, the space itself feels like something out of a fairytale. Designed by Japanese architects, the circular modern wooden building is sat within a garden and the light and bright space is just lovely to be in.
Head here for a quick coffee before visiting the museum or as a pit stop while wandering the cobbled streets. Note, you don’t need to pay to enter the museum to get to this café, it’s outside the main entrance.
8. Analog Kaffebar
Opening hours:
Mon – Wed: 08:00 – 16:30
Thu – Fri: 08:00 – 17:30 Sat: 10:00 – 15:00 Sun: Closed
Last but by no means least, just east of the city centre you’ll find Analog. The cosy coffee bar serves a whole range of coffees from classic lattes to filter coffee with your choice of beans so you can really get a custom brew.
Plus, if you’re hungry for something more they also have simple but delicious breakfast and lunch menus made with only the best organic ingredients. Simply put, if it’s quality you’re after, Analog is the one!
