10 Of The Best Restaurants In Cirencester 2026

Whether you’re a Cirencester local like me, or visiting on holiday in the Cotswolds – one of the best ways to experience a place is through the food.

To get your own taste of the lovely town of Cirencester, head to my tried and tested favourite restaurants for the best dishes, service and experience.

1. Amore Mio

Cuisine: Italian

To quote Tina, this is simply the best. When you’re craving the comfort of pizza and pasta look no further than Amore Mio. Unassuming from the outside, once seated you’ll find yourself in a little oasis with delicious wines, fresh authentic Italian food and irresistible desserts.

Plus, the service is great and the food is made really quickly. What more could you want! It’s a 10/10 from me.

2. Malt & Anchor

Cuisine: Fish & chips

When it comes to the classic fish & chips, less is often more. Perfect portions of chips – crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Fresh fish, scampi and squid in light crispy batter with a range of sumptuous side.

Simply put, if you’re after the ultimate Friday fish supper – Malt & Anchor is the one. With the option to take away or dine in their lovely little restaurant, you can make eating here more of an occasion or keep it casual.

3. Sam & Jak

Cuisine: Modern British

If it’s a creative tasty lunch or dinner you’re looking for – Sam & Jak is a great choice. The restaurant is sleek and comfortable, creating a fantastic dining experience. Their dishes are all made with seasonal British ingredients – shining a light on great local produce.

This spot is especially good for dining with friends, the warm atmosphere and paired back menu keep things simple and easy.

4. Indian Rasoi

Cuisine: Indian

For warming curries, fluffy naans and tasty bajis, it has to be Indian Rasoi. Our favourite Indian restaurant in Cirencester – their dishes are delicious, there’s a great selection of drinks and the servers couldn’t be friendlier.

Plus, the restaurant itself is cosy and welcoming. Where else would you want to be on a chilly or wet night!

5. La Bobina

Cuisine: Spanish

In the mood for wine tasting and tapas? Head straight to La Bobina. With fun wine tasting machines and excellent value set tapas menus, dining here feels like a real treat.

The restaurant is tucked away down a little cobbled side street and nestled in an old Cotswold stone building – all adding to the charm.

6. The Hop Kettle

Cuisine: Guest chefs & pop ups

If live music and beer flights are more your thing, choose The Hop Kettle. With lots of live bands, a rotation of guest chefs serving up tasty small plates and their own beers on tap, it’s a fun place to be!

Just be sure to book ahead or grab your table early as this place gets busy!

7. The Fleece

Cuisine: Gastro Pub

For pub classics that are a cut above the rest, The Fleece right on the high street is a perfect pick. With lots of cosy seating overlooking the historic town and a great atmosphere, it’s the ultimate crowd pleaser.

For bigger groups, they also have extended seating areas, just be sure to book in advance.

8. Burrito Mama

Cuisine: Mexican

From spicy tacos to cooling guacamole and fresh margaritas, Burrito Mama is a fun spot for tasty cocktails and sharing dishes. Be sure to order a few different plates to sample the range of Mexican flavours and wash it down with their fantastic drinks.

9. Thai Emerald

Cuisine: Thai

If it’s aromatic Thai food you’re craving, Thai Emerald is the one. With fluffy rice, fragrant curries and lots of tasty sides like spring rolls, spicy prawn crackers and satay chicken, it’s a great spot.

Plus, the restaurant itself is very pretty and the service is fantastic.

10. The Bear Inn

Cuisine: Gastro Pub

The final spot in the top 10 goes to The Bear Inn. A classic comfy pub serving up generous portions of tasty favourites like roasts, pies and burgers. All with a choice of local beers to go alongside.

When the sun is shining, sit out in their pub garden to catch some rays, or cosy up by the fire on wintery nights.
