12 Of The Best Cheapest Hotels In London 2026 [Under £150 Per Night]

London might be one of the most exciting cities in the world, but let’s be honest, it’s also one of the most expensive. Between the museum-hopping, market-grazing, and pub-crawling, your budget can disappear faster than a pint on a sunny day. But the good news is – you don’t have to sacrifice all your spending money on a good night’s sleep.
I’ve rounded up 12 of the best cheap(ish) hotels in London that feel boutique without the price tag – each one under £150 a night. So whether you’re after a quirky East London getaway, a stylish space in Kensington, or somewhere central you can rely on for a comfy bed after a long day of sightseeing, I’ve got you covered.
On the subject of location, when it comes to planning your London trip, knowing where to stay is almost as important as which hotel. So to help you find the right affordable accommodation in the right area, I’ve mapped all 12 hotels below for reference. Let’s dive in!

If you’re after a comfy and stylish base in West London then look no further than ibis Styles London Ealing. Set in the heart of Ealing you not only have lots of great restaurants, cafés and shopping on your doorstep but easy access into central London and Heathrow Airport that’s just 13km away.
The hotel itself is set in a modern building with super spacious rooms featuring cinema themed designs. There’s also an on-site restaurant for breakfasts and dinner as well as an outdoor terrace for sipping a glass of wine after a long day of exploring!
Overall, as this is an ibis you know what you’re getting – the quality is good, the facilities are spotless and you can count on decent service all for less than £100 per night.
2. Kensington Gardens Hotel

- Price per night: from £86
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 300m (Bayswater)
- Google review score: 4.1 / 5
If you’d rather stay more central, then Kensington Gardens Hotel is a great choice just a stone’s throw away from Hyde Park and Notting Hill. Here you’ll find a historic building on an iconic square that’s been turned into an independent hotel with a whole lot of period charm. As you can see from the photo above, lots of the rooms still have their original fire places as well as views out onto the garden in the centre of the square.
While the rest of the decor may be simple, I often find it makes for a cleaner and fresher space and that’s exactly what you’ll find here. Simple rooms executed perfectly with fantastic access to the best of London. Just note, there’s no restaurant or breakfast facilities here, but with so many delicious spots in London, it’s just an excuse to try more food!
3. W12 Rooms

- Price per night: from £80
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 100m (Shepherd’s Bush)
- Google review score: 4.1 / 5
As the most affordable hotel in the list, if sticking to a tighter budget is your main priority then W12 Rooms is the one. While it may have the lowest price per night, it’s certainly no less comfortable or luxurious. The rooms here are spacious, beautifully designed and meticulously clean.
Plus, the location is excellent. Sat in the centre of Shepherd’s Bush you have easy access to Notting Hill, Hammersmith and Holland Park while the heart of London is only a short tube ride away!
So, for an elegant stay that doesn’t break the bank, look no further than W12 Rooms.
4. Novotel London Canary Wharf

- Price per night: from £136
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 600m (Canary Wharf)
- Google review score: 4.5 / 5
If you’re after a hotel with more extensive facilities, then choose Novotel London Canary Wharf. In this stylish and modern hotel you’ll not only find comfy rooms but a rooftop bar, indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and restaurant. So whether you want to grab an easy dinner, catch sunset with a cocktail or get a quick work out in, you can do it all without stepping outside the hotel.
The location in Canary Wharf is also ideal if you want to explore more of East London with picturesque sights like Greenwich on your doorstep. And of course, as this is a Novotel, you can expect a certain level of quality and care that comes with the bigger chain hotels!
5. Best Western Kensington Olympia

- Price per night: from £125
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 350m (West Kensington)
- Google review score: 3.7 / 5 (this is lower due to older reviews left before their recent renovation of the hotel)
Now don’t be fooled by the Google review for this hotel, as you can see on Booking.com, the new owners have certainly turned things around and Best Western Kensington Olympia is getting lots of rave reviews. So while we wait for their Google review score to catch up, I wanted to shout about this underrated hotel offering brand new rooms with super comfy furnishings at great prices.
When it comes to location, if you want to visit the city’s best museums and soak up the Chelsea culture then Kensington Olympia is perfect. This hotel may not have a restaurant but honestly you won’t need it. Some of my favourite restaurants and breakfast spots are around Kensington and you’re spoilt for choice for tasty treats!
6. The Tommyfield Hotel

- Price per night: £139
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 50m (Kennington)
- Google review score: 4.3 / 5
For the most artistic hotel with historic roots, choose The Tommyfield which got it’s name from a 19th-century market that was home to Britain’s first fish and chip shop. The hotel itself is attached to a pub which makes finding a great meal, a quick pint or soaking up the London vibes incredibly easy.
Upstairs you’ll find chic rooms with luxury furnishings that honour the building’s period features as well as super helpful staff to ensure a seamless stay. The location also couldn’t be better for exploring central London with the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Cathedral all just 1.6 miles away.
So if you’re a foodie after a central stay then look no further!
7. TRIBE London Canary Wharf

- Price per night: from £145
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 450m (Canary Wharf)
- Google review score: 4.5 / 5
For a modern London hotel with international energy, choose TRIBE. This is a really chic hotel with bright airy rooms and lush outdoor spaces serving food inspired by Latin America and European flavours. Spend your time here feasting on tacos and sipping piscos sours before drifting off to sleep in your luxury sheets.

9. The Z Hotel Gloucester Place

- Price per night: from £119
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 350m (Baker Street)

If you’re looking for a central London town house experience, head to the Z Hotel on Gloucester Place. Here you’ll find a spacious and pristine town house converted into an intimate hotel with a pretty central courtyard and bright communal kitchen. This shared dining area is brilliant if you want to save a little more money by eating your own food there rather than eating out. Just note, the cooking facilities are pretty limited but you do have access to the space to sit and eat your meal in.
In terms of location, as you’re right in Marylebone in the heart of the city you’re perfectly positioned for exploring Hyde Park, Regent’s Park and other London icons like the Sherlock Holmes Museum.
10. Hampton By Hilton London Old Street

- Price per night: from £148 including breakfast
- Distance from nearest Underground station: 450m (Old Street)
- Google review score: 4.1 / 5
For a cosy stay in North London, head to Hampton By Hilton London Old Street. Here you’ll find a welcoming, comfortable night’s sleep in lovely canal-side Angel Islington. Surrounded by great coffee shops, cute shops and waterside walks, there’s a lot to love about positioning yourself here.

11. Staycity Aparthotels Dalston

- Price per night: from £150
- Distance from nearest train station: 200m (Dalston Kingsland)
- Google review score: 4.5 / 5
Just a short hop further north you’ll find Staycity Aparthotel Dalston. This is a beautifully designed hotel that looks like it should cost a whole lot more than it does. Each mini serviced apartment gives you a whole lot more value than a stand alone hotel room too. Each apartment has additional sofa space for comfy lounging as well as its own kitchen complete with a fridge, stovetop, microwave and dishwasher. So there’s no need to spend on expensive dinners out if you don’t want to.
The added facilities at this aparthotel give you more control over your budget as not only can you save on fine dining but also get free gym access, use of a co-working area and an on-site café and brewery. What more could you want?!
12. Phoenix Hotel
